In a local Area Network there are many reasons and factors that can cause a slow network connection. A slow connection decreases productivity, which in turn costs both time and money.
There are many different components in a network that can be the reason your connection speed is slow. From the patch cord plugged into the back of your computer to the switch in the data room and everything in between.
We at RHT Technologies have been troubleshooting and repairing slow connection speeds for over 20 years and can usually have it diagnosed in a short matter of time.
There are also a few things that you can do at your desk to make sure that you are getting the highest connection speed possible.
- Make sure your computer patch cord is at least 6 inches away from any power outlets or power cords.
- Make sure that there are no kinks or tight bends in your patch cords
- Be sure no heavy items are laying on the patch cords this includes the plastic floor cover that your chair rolls around on.
- Make sure that the patch cords are firmly plugged into the wall and into the back of your computer
